Don’t file complaints , just suffer in silence.” On the Bengaluru–Lucknow Air India flight IX 2048, crew members allegedly got into a confrontation with passenger Ankit Sahay. After landing in Lucknow, CISF personnel ,acting on complaints from the flight crew deboarded the passenger, his wife, and their 3-year-old child and made them sit at the police station. The passenger claims he had booked a Business Class ticket but was made to travel in Economy. Not only that ,he ordered non-veg meal but was served veg instead. When he objected and tried to record feedback in the complaint form, the situation escalated. He alleges the crew misbehaved and even denied him a glass of water. Because of airline staff actions, the family says 5 hours were wasted. So this is what it has come to? As a passenger, you can’t even file a complaint or register dissatisfaction without facing harassment? Shocking, unacceptable, and deeply concerning.
Morning begins hearing a sister crying Her brother is locked up in a police station since last night It's her brother's wife who threw hot milk on him while fighting with him but when police came, they detained the husband I spoke to the SHO concerned & he says we will keep him detained further so that they don't fight !!!! Despite Arnesh Kumar Judgment & SC guidelines not to arrest husband automatically in matrimonial cases, police across India is now arresting men under "shantibhang" provision & keeping them in custody unnecessarily until he gives in to demands of wife When I reminded SHO about Arnesh Kumar Judgment he told me - aap hamein mat bataiye kaise kaam karna hai @Uppolice

One of the biggest unnoticed scams by IndiGo is the inconsistent weighing scales at their check-in counters. Yesterday, while boarding flight 6E724 from Goa to Chandigarh, my bag showed 18 kg on one belt, 16 kg on another, and 15 kg on a third. When I questioned the discrepancy, the IndiGo staff simply replied, “Sir, the 15 kg machine must be wrong, 18 is the correct weight.” Seriously? What’s the justification for this? I ended up paying ₹11,900 for extra baggage including ₹1,500 just for carrying an umbrella! (Receipt Nos: VYU6U-02, Z8GZTD-02) To verify, I even weighed the same bag at my hotel and it was exactly 15 kg proving that their belts inflate the weight by 2-3 kg. This is nothing less than daylight robbery, and passengers are being ripped off without realizing it. IndiGo must be held accountable for this fraud. @IndiGo6E @DGCAIndia @AAI_Official @MoCA_GoI
This is the first hand account from an Eye Witness *It is truly disturbing to see how biased and irresponsible certain media platforms can be—publishing one-sided narratives without any real investigation or attempt to understand the full story. The recent coverage regarding the incident involving a serving Indian Army officer and SpiceJet staff at Srinagar Airport on 26 July 2025 is a glaring example of such reckless journalism.* I was present at the boarding gate and personally witnessed the entire episode unfold. What actually happened is in stark contrast to what’s being peddled by SpiceJet and amplified by some media outlets. The officer in question, arrived alone, carrying only a small cabin bag weighing around 8–9 kg. He had no check-in baggage and was travelling on short urgent leave due to a personal family emergency. His bag had already been cleared at the check-in counter by the SpiceJet staff without objection. However, things suddenly changed at the boarding gate. A few SpiceJet ground staff, around 4–5 of them, confronted him aggressively about the bag’s weight—despite it being the same one already cleared. The officer calmly explained his situation and even attempted to lighten the bag by removing some clothes and discarding them, just to avoid any confrontation. Instead of assisting, the SpiceJet staff grew louder and more confrontational. I clearly heard one of them say mockingly, “Aaj army wala fansa hai.” It was clear they saw this as an opportunity to intimidate and possibly extract a fine. When he requested to speak with a senior official, they refused. No effort was made to resolve the matter professionally. Suddenly, the gate was shut in front of him while he was still trying to speak. At that point, the staff appeared to close ranks and became increasingly hostile. A minor scuffle broke out when he tried to reason with them. He was clearly outnumbered, surrounded by 4–5 staffers, and visibly shaken. Let’s be clear—he was alone and unarmed. They were many, aggressive, and controlling the situation. Any suggestion that he "assaulted" them is not just misleading—it’s a fabrication. From what I saw, he was the one who sustained visible injuries. But now, some SpiceJet staff, claiming minor bruises, rushed to lodge an FIR and get admitted to hospital, which frankly looked like an attempt to shield themselves and flip the script. *What’s worse is that a few media outlets have now irresponsibly picked up SpiceJet’s version, completely ignoring the officer’s side or even trying to verify facts. This is not just unfair—it’s dangerous journalism.* The truth is simple: a man in uniform, travelling alone, was mistreated, insulted, and ultimately manhandled by an unprofessional and aggressive airline staff. And now, instead of accountability, we’re seeing a PR cover-up, backed by selective media reporting. It is imperative that the public and authorities hear both sides and let facts—not manipulated narratives—decide what justice looks like.
I made much of the furniture in my home. My wife cooks much of our food from basic ingredients. I write my own software, I write my own textbooks, my own articles. The idea that you are somehow ‘richer’ if you let other people do everything while specializing in your narrow field of expertise is pure utilitarian thinking. It is naive like only people who live on campuses can be. What economists are telling you is that work has no innate value. It is all about what the work produces. So if Joe receives 1000$ from the government, he is just as rich as if he had built something and made 1000$ of profit. That’s obviously incorrect. It matters to me that people use my software to solve their problems and that they are willing to pay me for my efforts. That has innate value above the money itself. I an not looking to substitute my income for a passive one. I want to do work that matters. I really feel sorry for the folks doing meaningless work such as preparing PowerPoint slides that nobody wants to watch. Having expertise and applying it to get an income matters. The food that my wife cooks is unlike what the market provides. Yes, she can outearn the market value of her food with her professional activities… but that’s silly. We want her food, not someone’s else. Could my family be richer in financial terms? Absolutely. Why would I be building furniture instead of doing my professional work? That’s nonsense. Well that’s nonsense to someone who thinks that furniture is furniture. My furniture is unlike what the market provides. At the level of a people… the same applies. It matters to me as someone from Quebec that Denis Villeneuve is from Quebec. It matters to Americans that they were first on the Moon. Culture matters. What your kids do matter. It is not all about GDP.
Tariffs will increase the number of certain kinds of jobs and the wages of the workers in those jobs. But it will lower the overall standard of living because it means producing goods at a higher cost than before. Self-sufficiency is the road to poverty. We trade with the rest of

Going absolutely bonkers on emacs. I'm such a world class idiot. I have used emacs for 20 years and I have completely failed to see its power. It was right in front of me the whole time. But I see it now. Man - what a concept! (vim people, this isn't about you) Once you see it, you will never use cursor. This isn't about code. In 2025, with LLMs streaming text into our machines, the text editor has become the main thing. You work with text all day long, how precise can you be? This is where all other document softwares fail so bad. On every other site you are at the mercy of Notion or Slack or something. On emacs your expression can be turing complete. LLMs write amazing latex now. And emacs is doing incredibly well in this new wave. Later I will write a blog post with names and links but just wanted to capture this moment. In emacs, I just write. Some of it is code. Some of it is text. The text just streams into my buffers. Some of it I execute. Some of it I save as documentation. Actually it's all everything. Code is data. Data is code. I press C-x C-e and that data has been executed. Once you grok this model of working, then you grok what emacs is. Go check out some videos on gptel. Check out some of the modern rewrites like vertico and straight. Emacs package manager straight is ridiculously good. You can just put little snippets of code in various places and mix and match them as you please. Some of those lines are (use-package ). Just keep it there. Execute it whenever you want. Emacs will just casually execute whatever you want. No need for any plugin or anything. There is no system boundary. The whole of your consciousness can be expressed there. All of open source is here. Emacs. Unix. GNU. Linux - it's all a cathedral of incredible proportions, a staggering achievement of human intellect and anarchy. When you think not of writing programs to do things but programs as an expression of life, then you will want an environment like emacs that blends smoothly across all forms of expression. If it can be done to text, it can be done in emacs. Imagine what it takes for a text editor to support different modes with different background colors and fonts. Some of your buffers can look like a newspaper. Others like code. Or mix em all up. Still performant. I code like this now. I just write something. Then I send it to an LLM. I get code back. The payoff from this workflow is far greater than the cost of moving everything to emacs. I run a small recruitment company. Why do I need to build the whole web app. Web app should be just for you all. I should run the whole business on Emacs. It would be a game changer. I am so confident of this that I propose an investment thesis to any VCs brave enough to try - invest in founders who use emacs. Their information processing bandwidth is unsurpassed. I have a plugin that makes my active buffer bigger - brings it higher up in my consciousness. I can just write a calendar somewhere. like a todo list. I being a nerd, I write it in a particular format. Then I can schedule things to happen at that time. Just write the scheduling command. No - ask chatgpt - 'I have these todos. write an elisp function to ......' and when the code comes in hit C-x C-e and boom. That's your code run. Name it something. Put it in a utils file. When its purpose becomes clear put it somewhere with a nice name. You can swim in the code. Richard Stallman is a genius. Emacs is a mind blowing system. Emacsers, please share cool videos. I want to introduce all my friends to this.
During my latest road trip while driving back from Karnataka to Maharashtra, was fined Rs 1000/- for overspeeding on the highway at 78kmph. Guess what was the speed limit on the highway?40kmph. Yes, 40kmph on the highway. (It was a straight road and not a ghat section. Many other vehicles with KA number plates were also going above 40kmph) Easy money for traffic police to earn from vehicles from other states. I paid my donation without any arguments as this is a common practice by various state police across India.
Just do what I do and use Emacs for everything.
Having a highly custom dev env is the worst thing you can do to your employability. Yesterday you wrote Java in IntelliJ Today you write OCaml in VScode Tomorrow you write Agda in Emacs 10 years from now you debug some nasty C over ssh You never know where a job will take you.
