It's almost like the correct answer to PaaS or self-host (or any other question) is "it depends."
See where this is going? Don't belittle people just because they use something that you are skilled enough not to use. Different people have different needs and differing amounts of time that they can spend on learning new things. Why can't people just be nice to each other?!
Front end dev: I use Vercel because VPS and Nginx stuff is difficult for me Back end dev: LMAO skill issue! Also back end: I use Bootstrap because CSS is hard for me.
