@Hernando_206 Many of us voted for a vision of a walkable waterfront. We had multiple options, we picked the most expensive because we wanted this. We’re super not excited about paying all the money, waiting 10 years, and getting the surface road we voted against

@pushtheneedle But 21% of New York State is under 18 and 22% of New Jersey is. There are alot of kids in New York (and Seattle) but there is a very real outflow of families.

@pushtheneedle The Frankfurt airport train station is well over that distance from the main terminal. But you can take a train to any city in Germany vs just downtown Seattle, so it makes up for it

@pushtheneedle @UrbanistSteve @behindthenet But the real win in opening up housing in the Bay Area would be fixing the ridiculous SFH zoning of South Bay. You could add 3 million more people in the Bay if San Jose area got to SF density. Imagine what Manhattan level density in the Valley would deliver

@pushtheneedle @UrbanistSteve @behindthenet Sunset's density is 17k/sq mile. It's a pretty intense liquefaction zone ~10 miles from a fault line, so you're not going to see Manhattan density there, but you should be able to get Brooklyn density of 25k/sq mile

@funcshawnal The initial surge is to give you max "emergency" miles in 5-10 minutes without damaging battery too much. My read is this graph looks great - 150ish miles in 15 minutes, near full charge in 30

@drvolts Fwiw even pretending urban voters might deserve more undermines so much of the moral legitimacy of your argument. The argument is simple. 1 vote = 1 vote. No matter where you live, how rich you are, what gender you are, what skin color you have everyone’s vote should be equal

@jzimbabwe @pushtheneedle Total agree. Given how much the rest of transit is down vs 2019, its probably fair to say that the network extension is the dominant driver of light rail usage growth.

@pushtheneedle Some of my favorite urban design is in Nice, where they have 1 lane streets with 1 parking lane adjacent to a dedicated bike lane + sidewalk with intermittent bus stops. Every other street alternated direction, with 2-way car arterials every 5ish blocks.
