El desastre de las inversiones públicas en digitalización es tan flagrante que salta a la vista un inevitable ciclo de vida: 1️⃣ Anuncio a bombo y platillo de una iniciativa «revolucionaria» 2️⃣ Dos años de irrelevancia quemando dinero público 3️⃣ El servicio desaparece discretamente Es el ciclo de vida del dispendio del dinero público en «tecnoalardes» efectistas que solo sirven para una cosa: la propaganda de políticos e instituciones. Son inversiones que duran lo que dura el dinero público. Y cuyo objetivo no es el bienestar mediante la tecnología, sino la propaganda mediante el erario. Es una perversión de principios. Es un insulto. Las ciudades «smart» y los «marketplaces» —más de un centenar he contado— ya han alcanzado la fase 3️⃣: la fase de extinción. Ya son fósiles en las hemerotecas. Los «metaversos» y los «destinos turísticos inteligentes», en cambio, se encuentran en fase 2️⃣: la irrelevancia que antecede a la desaparición. Pero por cada estrella que se apaga tres nuevas se encienden en este firmamento imbécil del despropósito con el dinero de todos: son los proyectos públicos de «inteligencia artificial», ya en la fase 1️⃣ del ciclo. ¿Qué necesitamos; qué pedimos? Que renovar el DNI no sea un laberinto, que comprar un billete en la web de Renfe no sea una yincana y que los trámites digitales no te consuman la mañana. Estado del bienestar. Y ellos, ¿qué nos dan? Metaversos que nadie ha pedido, mapas millonarios en Fortnite, páramos sensorizados y carísimas pero inútiles «apps» anunciadas con fanfarria. Bienestar del Estado. Quiero un ministro para la Transformación Digital que sepa de lo que habla. Que utilice los ingentes recursos públicos para transformar las patéticas interfaces Administración-ciudadano. Que utilice su atalaya para denunciar y arrasar con toda esta basura que ha infectado las instituciones, caiga quien caiga. Y que no me tome por tonto.
