@kylelewisfit The typical person can gain about 25 lbs of muscle in 3 years of lifting naturally, that is only 150 calories, and takes 3 years to get. I did my cut on a 500 calorie deficit, so while it's better than nothing, it's also far from sufficient for most people.

@agingroy Bodybuilders usually target 1/2 kg per week of weight loss. That's what I did on my cut. This is the rate bodybuilders target on a GLP-1 as well. They adjust the dose to hit that target, which is exactly what the normal people should do as well.

@kylelewisfit Muscle burns 13 calories per kg at rest. It's a real effect, but not hugely impactful with the amount of muscle the typical person can put on in a reasonable amount of time without steroids. Diet is how you lose weight, lifting weights is mostly to build/preserve muscle.

For larger ponds partial water changes becomes impossible. So you use a larger biological filter with a much larger planted area, (called a swamp filter) usually 1/3 the size of the pond.

I don't know much about preventing algae in massive ponds, but I did look after fish tanks for years. A biological filter (filter media with nitrifying bacteria) and plants to remove the nitrogen was effective combined with regular partial water changes.

A UV filter can be used kill suspended algae, but only after you have fixed the nitrogen levels.

@tryingtobeLFA Clean is a completely meaningless term, I prioritize protein (1g per pound of lean body mass), plus high volume low calorie foods and unrefined carbs (still has the fiber) within my calorie targets.

@ted_ryce I'm already 'in shape' i.e. less than 15% body fat, visible abs etc, but I have knee injury which is preventing me from squatting heavy or to depth, which limits the strength/muscle gains I can make in my quads.

@NightSkyToday They tested this using bacteria which is found in kimchi, but outside the human body in a lab setting, they have not tested in humans, or shown that eating kimchi would have this effect.

@shawngorham Men over 40 need to be a lot more careful with injury risk, doing training in the low rep ranges is much more risky (powerlifting has 4 times the injury rate of bodybuilding) over 40 you should be training in high rep ranges i.e 8-12 rather the than 1-5

@justsomecanuk A woman's bathroom has separate private cubicles, a men's bathroom has urinals. It is a lot better for a man to go into a woman's bathroom than for a girl to go into a mans. It's not even close. There is zero difference between a unisex bathroom and a womans bathroom.

@Emmachuuks Diet is required to lose weight, strength training to build muscle and strength, Cardio doesn't help much with either goal, it's main benefits are fitness and cardiovascular health.
