Just finished a round of pilot testing Universal Import with one of our LTL brokerage customers. Four documents. Each one a different shape: rate confirmations, purchase orders, tenders, multi-stop cross-docks. Drag the PDF in, get a load. When the system can't determine a field from the document itself, it asks. When the document is a recurring format, it learns the mapping pattern for next time. Powered by Anthropic's Claude, Sonnet for extraction, Haiku for source classification. More soon.

When you're trying to socialize but nobody is talking about freight.
We used to get flack for how our software looked. I took that personally. 30+ years building logistics software, we knew our system worked - but yeah, it looked dated. Fair criticism. So we rebuilt it. Modern UI, same deep functionality, and we're just getting started. Turns out you don't have to choose between "works great" and "looks great."

We've been dogfooding AI tools for years now at DrDispatch. If we can't get good use out of it, neither can our customers. Well... Right now AI agents are doing most of the code. I have agents monitoring our production error logs and immediately submitting pull requests when issues show up. We're starting to run error-free for days at a time now. This wasn't the plan in 2023 when everyone was rushing to slap ChatGPT on everything. We took our time because shipping half-baked AI features to freight brokers who run their entire business on your software is a bad idea. The irony: by using it ourselves first, we figured out what actually matters. Turns out it's not the fancy stuff - it's reliability, context, and making manual work disappear. Now we're finally shipping AI features to customers. Not because it's trendy, but because we know they actually work.
