Yeah, I think most materials usually look good if it looks good in clay material :) And I find it easier to set up the materials to match the lighting, than the other way around. If I do materials first, they usually end up being too disproportionately strong once I turn the lights on.

Clay render with proper lighting. This is the last stop before materials go on. Everything you're seeing here, from the form and silhouette to the shadows, is just geometry doing its job. The color and detail hasn't arrived yet. It's going to change everything.

@aemofo Yeah, lighting and texturing really go hand in hand and it’s a super delicate balance trying to get both right. You should go for it though! Start with a good HDRI and just focus on texturing. Most things look good with a proper HDRI :)

Thank you! Appreciate it :) I really enjoy the simplicity and workflow + feel of Plasticity. It’s just way more intuitive to me when it comes to modeling than anything else. And I like the company, what they’re doing, the rate they’re shipping updates, and how helpful their community is, so I’m betting on Plasticity doing good for designers in the future :)
