One of my strongest skills as a generalist management consultant / strategy and ops person was Microsoft Excel. I use Excel without a mouse, have removed the F1 and Caps Lock keys from every keyboard I own (IYKYK), and have tracked every dollar I earned / spent / invested over the last 10 years in a spreadsheet. Last week, I struggled writing an index match because I’ve only created 2 spreadsheets during my 71 days at Anthropic. The reason - Fable 5. I use Fable 5 in Claude Code for all of my analysis, no matter how simple or complex. It’s an absolute machine of a model that feels more like working with a talented teammate than AI. Fable 5 is especially impressive when I’m in a rush and haven’t properly explained what I need done. It almost always understands what is missing from my explanation and makes a decision on whether to ask for clarification or make a judgement call and proceed with the analysis (before checking with me afterwards). Fable 5 has level of autonomy and judgement that still impresses me daily and it's almost made spreadsheets a thing of the past in my work. Give Fable 5 a try! We've reset 5-hour and weekly rate limits for all users on Pro and Max plans. We fixed an issue that caused some Claude Code sessions to spawn excessive parallel subagents, burning through usage faster than expected.

Effective today, we are: 1) Doubling Claude Code’s 5-hour rate limits for Pro, Max, and Team plans; 2) Removing the peak hours limit reduction on Claude Code for Pro and Max plans; and 3) Substantially raising our API rate limits for Opus models.

We take these reports incredibly seriously. In my time on the team, this has probably been the most complex investigation we’ve had. The root causes were not obvious, and there were many confounders.
