One of the unstated reasons why people build in public is because there is no immediate legibility or understanding from peers when you’re building a business. Part of the motivation of sharing behind the scenes is to show what this work actually looks like and if it doesn’t work out having a record and narrative of your efforts. If you build in public intelligently (and your business fails..most do), you have hedged and positioned yourself in a better way than someone who built invisibly.
