@huaijiangzhu @physical_int @GeneralistAI @Ultraroboticsco The problems in robotics are so much a system’s challenge, I’m bullish it will be those who own the full experience (like Waymo and Tesla are doing) who are able to capture most of the value and train the best modes. Doing your own HW to some degree matters — it is _embodied_ AI!

@ErenChenAI There's real danger to becoming reliant on Chinese robots from the security risks (see DJI vacuums... but make it CCP) to undercutting our own mfg before they really get going. Actuators, etc can/should still be imported and let's build more robots here!

@chris_j_paxton This would be a blow to researchers but the potential of the CCP to access any of these robots at any time does make the proliferation of them in the US _much_ riskier. The reverse isn't possible, thus they have little fear of their Quests being CIA tunnels. (but also yes BUILD!)

@chris_j_paxton A huge bottleneck to scaling robots has nothing to do with the robots, per se: it's change management for all the humans that have to work with the robots and integrate them. Sure, the robots don't generalize, but at least you can ship a new model or software update to fix that.
