Bought an M5 Max/128/8 to replace my M1 Max/32/1. TBH I kept the m1 as it is still the best computer I have ever owned with the exception of my M5. The M5 is awesome for local inferencing running lots of concurrent tests and harness loops etc but my ‘q still does everything I need it to. The two game changers are the additional shared ram and maxing out on the ssd. The ssd is almost as fast as as ddr4. In hindsight if I was to make the buying decision again I might buy another DGX spark and wait a year for the m6

I ditched blacksmith and bought an hp workstation that runs all of my ci and testing including ux. Tmux & Tailscale to access my promo mox and VMs which run local copies of codex CLI, Claude code and grok build. I have the codex on my mac orchestrate. No idea why I didn’t do this before. I have promox running on cheap z8 g4s in my basement and have codex auto provision the ci runners and uat. I run continuous screenshotting with playwright and have a local Qwen2.5-VL-72B-Instruct (Quantized to NVFP4) running on my dgx spark that critiques the ux and and feeds back to the codex orchestration instance.

Don’t forget Richard Todd who played John Howard was in 6th Airborne. He played John Frost his old boss in The Longest day. Dirk Bogarde was an intelligence officer and one of the first allied officers to enter Bergen Belsen. Denholm Elliot was shot down and spent the was as a POW. Michael Caine is a Korean War vet.

@sudoingX constantly breaks. long running jobs fail quite quickly. gets stuck in loops fixing fairly basic issues. I bought supergrok heavy to test the quota but tbh I am not burning enough tokens to get anywhere near as all my jobs fail.
