@RobMcNealy @clharrington024 Book fairs are fundraisers for the school libraries which are historically underfunded. And kids DO still read. I’m a children’s librarian at a public library and we are busier than ever.

@bannon1975 Some of my best memories of my kids’ childhoods are cuddling up together sharing books. Continued it through middle school. In high school, my youngest once brought out one of his favs and asked me to read it to him❤️. ‘The Old Woman who Named Things’

@_sorrengailll @chisoltd My son is graduating from Purdue today. His cap and gown rental is $83. RENTAL! It’s a racket. My other son graduated a couple years ago from a different university and at least got to keep it for that money.

@mark_slapinski @FluteMagician They are disgraceful. My son survived a school shooting and I can assure you he was not smirking 30 minutes after it happened. Horrified anguish is the term I would use to describe his face. It was shattering to see him in such distress.

@physicsgeek I saw the Challenger explode. I was in 8th grade. We watched it live and then had to take a writing placement test for 9th grade. No counseling, no discussion, just move on. It was devastating and horrific to watch.

@Idesofmarch1321 @JendersII Same. My son moved home after graduating college in 2024. He works full time, helps around the house and is a delight to have around. We don't charge him rent as long as he is banking his money. I look at it as bonus time with my kid that I never expected to have.
