The wolf is not a part of the church, it is not a member of the body. Nor is the spiritually abusive pastor, the unrepentant church leader, sexually exploitive spiritual guru or anyone in violation of healthy relational norms needing turned over to the devil so that in the last day they can be saved. Many churches aren’t dealing with offenders properly or at all and this is why we speak out. In turn, the world loves to see us taking care of our own, they learn we love as we sacrifice to protect the vulnerable among us—and the world learns it too can trust us. #churchtoo. #spiritualAbuse

It’s been years and I’m still used on stage as an example from the bully pulpit. I changed? How did I change? I just personally asked him, if rhetorically, “not even a single day off for your brother-in-law pastor to get his head straight?” This was in the wake of having been caught & blowing up his and another’s marriage. ⤴️ His answer was it would hurt his bro’s career. It would be an admittance of disqualifying behavior. It would hurt the cover. It’s why there was zero repentance as well.
