The 5th SA–Netherlands Senior Officials’ Meeting was held in Pretoria today, reviewing progress on bilateral projects and setting the path forward. Hosted by Amb Maud Dlomo of DIRCO and the Dutch delegation led by Amb Joost Flamand of the Foreign Ministry in The Hague. 🇿🇦🇳🇱
Amb Joost Flamand, the DDG: Political Affairs at @DutchMFA , was in Pretoria today and met with DIRCO Director-General Zane Dangor. Discussion focused on bilateral relations, geopolitical issues and ways in which SA-NL cooperation could be enhanced. 🇿🇦🇳🇱
#SANetherlandsRelations🇿🇦🇳🇱 are firm and continue to grow. The Netherlands was a staunch supporter of the freedom movement. Successive Governments in the Netherlands have over the years encouraged the transition to democracy & equal rights in South Africa.

De Ruyter never said he resigned because it was a tough job. He did say he resigned because his position became untenable due to a lack of political support after Minister Gwede Mantashe publicly accused Eskom management of working to overthow the govt through load shedding.
