@MinofHealthUG is currently implementing the E-AFYA electronic Health Management System (eHMS) with heavy investment in the system and structures from Referral hospitals to Health centres. Biometric Systems are being used in the National and Regional referral hospitals - being switched from the fingerprint recognition to the iris recognition. But still "present absenteeism" is inevitable. Why not roll out the same biometric Systems to the lower facilities?

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba all but confirms that the raid on the home and arrest of former Kampala mayor Erias Lukwago today is related to the ongoing Dr Kizza Besigye case. Besigye, who was abducted in Kenya during a book launch alongside Obeid Lutale and repatriated to Uganda to face treason charges on November 16, 2024, has since sued Muhoozi over threats to hang him on the allegation of attempting to kill his father, President Yoweri Museveni. The High Court in Kampala last week gave Muhoozi only 7 days to file his defence, but in a series of posts, he's now threatened to arrest anyone who dares to serve him court papers.

It's not immediately clear if the operation is related to the ongoing legal battles involving Dr Kizza Besigye and efforts by his legal team, led by Lukwago, to serve CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba after he was sued by Besigye over threats to hang him over alleged treason.

However, despite waiting until 6:30 pm, none of the health workers returned, raising questions about whether they had reported for duty at all.
