@jasonfried Ah! I see what's going on - I thought this was just quick jump menu to find projects and recently visited pages. If I hit cmd+enter it does a full search across everything. I missed that. Thanks, sir. Still loving BC, 22 years in.
@jasonfried Really loving the improvements in Basecamp 5. Having a tough time with search though - I don't always know what *type* of thing I'm looking for. In the new design, I seem to have to choose that first. Am I missing something obvious?
@jasonfried Let's say I remember something we were discussing. I don't remember if it was in a comment, a message, etc. The only way I can figure to search for it is to click, "Everything" and go here. Is that not right? I figured this is user error...

@rjs This is a fantastic thread. In my experience one common trap is someone solving something at a, “sorta high altitude.” They weren’t zoomed out nearly enough, so it felt like systems work but they missed a bunch of stuff they couldn’t see.

@colinokeefe Yup. But Dan's strategy for fostering culture seems very surface-level versus systematic. It worked last year thanks to Cal, but now it's clear there isn't really a system to fall back on for Plan B and C
