@RJDoyleSW2 They (tfl in this case I think) did consulting on this proposed closure to move the pedestrian crossing about 2 years ago though and despite various bad things about it being pointed out, have seemingly decided to crack on with it so I can't see any objections now stopping it.

@StrWellsLTNEye @MalcolmClark77 Hammersmith and Fulham do something very much like this for their traffic gates to the west of Wandsworth bridge road. Registered residents can go through at all times. Others no. I've always thought this would be a good 'compromise' solution here.

@streathamaction @thameswater As of Sunday teatime..holes tarmac-ed over but mostly still coned off. Looks like it's just waiting for someone to come and remove cones etc.. Hopefully done by tomorrow !

@streathamaction @WHSmith @PostOffice Ah, seems there are 2 lifts in whsmiths Streatham. Have never seen this one working / used (or even noticed it before). The big sign in the shop points to the other lift.

@instreatham @prattsandpayne1 @ShopinStreatham That's a bit sad. I remember going there on opening night, and various quizzes and birthday drinks over the years. Always pretty reliable. Hopefully something new appears.
