@matthewchang @SawyerMerritt He famously open sourced Tesla patents for charging and electrical and other things. So that would imply they file patents. Also, in this litigious age it would be corporate suicide to not have a wall of defensive patents.

@PovilasKorop Traffic doesn't tell the entire story. Page load time under load tells a better story. So what if you can serve 100,000,000 requests if it takes 3 to 5 seconds per request. What about processing e-commerce sales or leads? How long does that take?

@Dev_Williee As someone with both a bachelor's of arts in computer science and a professional web developer with 18+ years of experience I can safely say that this is only partially right. The fundamentals are essential. But a college should offer at least two classes on practical things.

@hilary_kartel @Dev_Williee A fresh graduate should already be playing with some of this tech in their spare time. The fundamentals give you a strong starting place. But programming and computer science is a complex field and you can't possibly expect to learn it all in college. No degree offers that.

@ArdentlyGrant @elonmusk He isn't saying these are all taking benefits. Merely that these are the numbers of people not listed as dead in the system. Not that these are the numbers actually taking benefits. Easily could just be a failure to update the data on existing people.

@IanMartinezC @therabbithole That looks like a good callout. I checked the inflation calculator, which I set to 1965 because of where the timeline begins. That would project it $68,505. But then I checked the source page and according to that these are inflation-adjusted numbers. So I think that negates it.

@therabbithole @jmeierX So basically the problem started to take off in the late 70's or early 80's. It would be interesting to note which policy changes came into effect around then.
