I'm waiting for the US market open today. HERE'S WHY: Trump’s new tariff announcement is already shaking the markets. Several companies e.g. CEC Entertainment, have reported nearly $6 billion in debt financing failures. Up until now, they relied on high-yield (junk) bonds - essentially rolling over old debt with new, expensive debt. The problem? This time there was no demand. Even giants like JPMorgan and Citi couldn’t offload their leveraged loans. This suggests a broader issue: many firms, especially those in tariff-affected sectors, might struggle to refinance their debt. Their financial stability is now in question. On Thursday, hedge funds dumped $40 billion worth of stocks — the biggest one-day selloff since 2010. Forced margin calls led to fire sales of everything from equities to gold. It’s the perfect example of a snowball effect: the lower the market drops, the more liquidations we see — and the more liquidations, the lower it drops. Classic demand-supply pressure loop. One thing’s for sure: we’re witnessing history unfold.
