🎓Georgia Tech Master’s Series - Episode 1 I wrapped up my first semester at Georgia Institute of Technology and one of the courses I took was Al Ethics & Society and I got an A!!!🎉 As Al becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, it’s not enough to know how to build Al systems, we also need to understand their impact on people and society.✨ 📚Skills learned: • Evaluating Al systems through fairness, accountability, and transparency frameworks • Identifying and mitigating bias in data and machine learning models. • Understanding Al governance, regulation, and policy considerations. • Applying privacy and responsible data management principles. • Analyzing ethical dilemmas through real-world Al case studies. • Designing human-centered and inclusive Al solutions. 📚My key takeaway: The biggest lesson from this course is that Al is never just a technical problem. Every model, dataset, and product decision has human consequences. Building great Al isn’t only about accuracy and performance, it’s about creating systems that are fair, trustworthy, and beneficial to the people who use them. In 2022, I had a 1:1 session with a student who was about to graduate. I encouraged her to position herself intentionally on LinkedIn, prepare properly for interviews, and apply aggressively to international companies.🔥 She did exactly that and in 4 months she secured a Software Engineering internship at Bank of America, relocated to London, and is now working there full-time.🚀 She’s earning well and already making plans to move companies within the UK. Andrej Karpathy spent 2h showing how he actually uses AI day to day he's a co-founder of OpenAI and led AI at Tesla, so when he shows how he works, it’s worth watching and the whole session is just him telling the machine what he wants in simple terms, like he's briefing a coworker watch what's actually happening the entire time: > he describes the task in normal words > it goes off and does the work > he glances at the result and nudges it with one more sentence that's the whole skill, and you've had it since you learned to talk the only gap between that and a worker that runs on its own is handing that sentence a schedule and the tools to act check his work, then build the version that keeps working when you stop
