@JayDyer Have you just quit the open call in streams or have you quit formal debates too? That being if an opportunity comes up in the future to debate someone in the apologetic space?
Both bishops are politically left leaning and support open borders and multiculturalism for western countries. Your Crusader Kings fantasy isn't going to work.
@orthobrohammer@quasischoolman@maksimologija Precision? You treated the essence like a standalone "concrete particular" and said it was passed around. That’s a fourth hypostasis or impersonal form. You got boxed into a category error and now you’re typing essays to hide it. Stop projecting your cope and take the L.
@orthobrohammer@quasischoolman@maksimologija The essence is personal because it is what the person of the Father is, it’s not impersonal. The word self existent can only be applied to a self/person. The essence is not a hypostasis. Therefore it’s a category error to say the essence is a se. The Father alone is a se!
@orthobrohammer@quasischoolman@maksimologija The Son is not a creature. Eternal generation is not creation. You're confusing "derived" with "created" because you treat the divine essence as an impersonal form rather than what the person of the Father is. Maybe read more Orthodox theology before trying to critique it!
@orthobrohammer@quasischoolman@maksimologija The Son does have the identical nature of the Father. But the mode of possession is different, the Father has a underived nature and the Son has a derived nature. The essence is what the person of the Father is. The essence is not an impersonal form.
@orthobrohammer@quasischoolman@maksimologija The Son lacks aseity because His essence is eternally derived from the Father. He is not self-existent but eternally existent. This doesn’t make Him a creature, as He is eternally generated from the Father's nature. Not created ex nihilo.
@quasischoolman@maksimologija@orthobrohammer Only the Father has aseity. The Son does not have aseity because He is not self-sourced. It’s not to say the Son’s essence is generated, but that it is derived from the Father through the act of communication. Derivation does not equal temporality like I said before.
@quasischoolman@maksimologija@orthobrohammer Jay said, “Everything (the Son) has, His person and His nature, comes from the Father.” By generating the Son, the Father communicates the essence. This communication comes under the definition of eternal generation. Jay never said the essence itself is generated.
When criminals walk free, but ordinary people are jailed, recognise the corruption of those who wield power.
In the UK, thousands are arrested every year for their opinions, while violent rapists are protected.
This is not only immoral, it is dangerous.
Labour’s ground game was absolutely terrible in Makerfield.
You had canvassers who were calling Reform voters racists.
You had canvassers who didn’t even canvass, but just leafleted.
And they were all incredibly old, entitled, generational Labour voters who were completely out of touch with what the public want.
