The word self existent can only be applied to a self/person. The essence is not a hypostasis. Therefore it’s a category error to say the essence is a se. The Father alone is a se!

You're confusing "derived" with "created" because you treat the divine essence as an impersonal form rather than what the person of the Father is. Maybe read more Orthodox theology before trying to critique it!

It’s not to say the Son’s essence is generated, but that it is derived from the Father through the act of communication. Derivation does not equal temporality like I said before.
