@aialchemistart @LavenderGooms1 My favorite as a kid was in Ultima V, where some in-world game text was written in runes and the manual came with a guide to converting the runes to English letters. It was fun, easy to learn, and added to the immersion. The manuals had a wealth of key info on spells etc too.

@rauchg @arro_sh @vercel @mamuso On an internal dashboard, besides the button I have a customizable keybinding, and as part of the initial automated UI tour they're asked to try it and made aware that many things have keyboard equivalents. Seems to be an entry drug for many to start learning and using shortcuts.

@8BitShowAndTell After perfecting the VIC version, maybe try VDC with the excellent BASIC 7.80 by Robert Willie. web.archive.org/web/2022031408… He extended the existing graphics commands to support 80 columns. I believe the only changes you'd need would be to use GRAPHIC6,1 and change 321 to 641.

@pikuma Very exciting! Just recently I started making a small PSX-style game and was thinking I'd much rather it be the real thing for the OG system. Now I have no excuse not to learn how to make that happen. Thank you for making this!

@MartinNebelong It's great seeing improvements in control. I'm also intrigued by how this could change game rendering in a few years. Lower detail assets with rendering hints will enable hugely detailed worlds, lighting and effects without raytracing and complex render pipelines.

@8BitShowAndTell Similar experience for me, but on an Atari XEGS sans storage. I was very interested in programming, and learned a lot typing in programs from the manual, then graduating to Ahl's BASIC Computer Games. No way to save, but every power cycle was a fresh slate to try something new.

If $3k can be raised to digitize 5 bog standard VHS tapes from the 90s game Phantasmagoria 2, there's no way we can't get the money together for Reboot's D1s.

@anuaakash There's a lot to like here, but to me the best part is that it was able to infer an appropriate expression for the driver's reflection. ChatGPT + Dalle3 takes effective image creation out of the realm of prompt engineering and makes it so much more accessible and natural to use.

@laurahunsaker Shorter for me too. I rarely read lengthy books in one sitting anymore, and like to leave off on chapter breaks. Long chapters often see me pushing on past the point I want to, which introduces some frustration to my experience of a book.

@manuflog Hi manu, just wanted to let you know that your GPT readily shares its prompt with users who ask for it. (I'm sharing only the relevant part of the prompt here, but it gave me the entire prompt.) Maybe there's a way you can refine the instructions to stop that.
