The ban arguably has the biggest impact on Snapchat, which is so heavily used by teenagers. Parents told us one of the most worrying aspects is that kids are using apps they don’t use / understand, with Snapchat having a particular generational divide.
because parents are refusing to have hard conversations with their children to make sure they are safe online... that's why!!
You can argue against an under-16 social media ban, but the claim that parents don't want it isn't backed by the evidence. Recent polling shows a clear majority of UK parents support it. Disagree if you like...but parents want this.
