@dawatchman @ChadThunder1982 @fandompulse @RazorFist I tried that. For years. It led to the likes of Starfleet Academy and the newest of nuWho. Let the message arise organically, and the story can work. Start with the message as your priority, and the story withers.

@audi0dr4g0n @SandyofCthulhu Raconteur Press has a line of juveniles for boys, and I like the ones I read. raconteurpress.com/boys-adventure… And I recommend Dave Freer's books - good adventures where "the message" is "how to stand on your own two feet".

@cirsova I grew up on the Silm, first read-through at 8. A whole-cloth adaptation would be awful, but DAMN I'd love to see a good adaptation of Beren and Luthien or the Fall of Numenor.
