@PramilaJayapal Here in California we spent $24B over the last five years on homelessness. (2019-2024) What do we have to show for it? 30,000 more unhoused individuals than in 2018. We make it profitable to _have_ the problem, we don't make it profitable to _solve_ the problem.

@Tekeee I graduated with an inflation adj $27k in debt. Worked full time during. I paid the equiv. of $2k a month for rent in my first apartment post graduation. My first job after college paid $25k, about $56k today. The class of 2024 avg was ~$69k and in my field closer to $80k.

@SenSchumer Last I saw there were about 380,000 arrests by ICE in the last year. If 14% of them were violent criminals, that means we removed over 53,000 violent criminals from our streets. That seems like a lot.
