Working on the firmware for River. Weir will be UEFI with ACPI and DMI and written in Zig. This should be a good step towards bringing Linux up on River.

Writing an ACPI ASL generator, I forgot how weird this DSL is.
A part of it is using the right tools, prompting it right, and having a good understanding and grasp on what you're trying to do. Things like Claude Opus 4.8 tend to do well with tools like Nix and languages like Dart, Zig, and Rust. If you can spec out what you're trying to do, you can treat it like a junior engineer or an intern.

@mkultrascale That's smaller than the Spartan 7 I have which has 50k LUT's. But roughly the same size as the ECP5 I've got.
