A big part of it is determining average disposable income. The amount people can actually afford to use for entertainment such as games, movies, etc. Once you get a basic idea from online resources it's best to talk to people who live there. With such a global community I reached out to people in the regions we target and ask them about the prices. I also reach out to streamers, check competitor prices, and look through a number of forums online to see if those competitor games are more or less pirated in the region. It's always a lot of in-depth work but the most impactful check has always been to just talk to people who live there. Some of the most forgotten countries pricing wise that I see are Brazil, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand. The hardest to localize prices for are EU countries that use the Euro since so many countries there have different economies but they all use the same currency. This makes targeted pricing kind of impossible on Steam.

I wanted to talk a bit about signposting in Balatro - basically the methods by which players are guided by the game to actually understand the game. To some degree this is the whole point of game design, but there were a lot of fun strategies I was able to use with Balatro

@YetAnotherGame Absolutely. You can also make the sim deterministic without too much effort. We had replays in Inkbound so that bugs could be reproduced 100% of the time.
