ar.io is live on @solana! 🥳 The infra is faster and the builder audience is bigger, but mission's the same! Still very much @ArweaveEco. Permanent data layer hasn't changed/not going anywhere. Solana runs the coordination now: staking, names, rewards etc. Now that it's live across the whole platform... here's what I'm noticing as a dev and operator: - Apps have never loaded this fast. Solana RPCs are no joke. - Wallet ecosystem is genuinely good. Seeing all my ArNS names and their logos load in Phantom (small thing, but honestly kind of a moment for me). - Gas and rent are annoying. But that's the cost of real security, and it's one we should have been paying all along. - ArNS lookups are smoother. No more long hangups. - SDK works the same as before, just with a Solana wallet. - The @solana_devs ecosystem is massive. The docs and tooling are solid, plus there are agent skills that make the robots beep-boop even better. No doubt, this was one of the hardest things we've pulled off and I didn't truly appreciate the massive effort it would take. Rewriting contracts, rearchitecting the SDK, updating every app, building migration tooling for a live network with real users and real stakes. We put everything into it. But the foundation was already there. Hundreds of operators have been running incentivized gateways for over a year. Solana just made it more reliable and easier. 🫡
